Bake With Me // Jam Cookies

Hello everyone,

Yes, I have one of my recipes up, finally! Sorry that they're all valentines themed and quite late, but a couple of you expressed interest in them still so I thought why not! I was going to post two, but my cupcakes pictures turned out really bad. I make them a lot though, so you will see them sometime this spring I can promise you that! Anyways, lets get on to the details for my jam cookies.

You will need:

1 cup of butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
2  1/2 cups of flower

Begin creaming all the wet ingredients until well blended. Then, start adding the dry ingredients until smooth.
Once everything is mixed together, wrap the dough in clear wrap and let chill for 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 325
Roll out dough and begin cutting an even amount of circles.
Take half of those circles and make a heart cutout in the middle of each.
Once you have all your cutouts, place them on a sprayed or buttered panned and bake them for 10 minutes.
Once finished, let them cool on a cookie rack.

With the plain circles, you can spread your favorite jam, filling, Nutella, or frosting over them. I put strawberry preserves.
I did not make my filling for these cookies. We had no berries and it was pretty late, or else I would have.
Once you have topped all the circle cookies with your desired filling, place the heart cutout circles on top.

I kept the heart cutouts and put normal frosting on them because I have some picky brothers, but you could totally continue using that dough to make more of the jam cookies.
For the frosting, I just kept adding butter, milk, and powdered sugar until it was to my likeness.

There! Now you have yummy and adorable cookies to serve to your family and friends, or to keep all to yourself.

Enjoy,

Elizabeth
